Tree Stand Steps
Tree stand steps fall into 2 main types
A recent addition is to have glowing steps that provide visibility when climbing in the dark. This is especially useful when descending from your stand at night when it is hard to see the steps below you. The steps are required when you use a fixed tree stand that requires you to carry it up into the tree for attaching, and then the steps are required for accessing the stand each time you use it. The other three main types of stand don't require steps - a climbing stand is designed to ascend the tree with you attached to it, and a ladder stand and tripod stand come with steps attached. An alternative to steps are portable ladders.
Strap-on Steps The advantage of these steps is that they are fast to hook up and lightweight for easy transport. Some of them are strength tested to 500 lbs. They are also more environmentally friendly producing minimal damage to the trees.
Screw-in Step
These steps usually fold up for easy storage
and transport and are constructed out of steel with
stainless steel rivets.
Glowing tree stand step How do you improve on perfection? Make It Glow!! When you are descending in the dark that extra bit of help identifying the step location can prevent slips and falls. They can be purchased separately and installed as you need them.
